Shame special preview and satellite Q&A coming to a cinema near you!

Shame

Preview by Jack Foley

IN advance of its UK and Irish release on January 13, 68 cinemas across the UK and Ireland will host preview screenings of the hotly-tipped awards contender, Shame on Tuesday, January 10.

The screening will be followed by a live satellite Q+A session with BAFTA award winning director Steve McQueen and co-writer Abi Morgan which will be broadcast from the Curzon Mayfair in London.

Audiences will also be able to submit questions to the film-makers via the film’s Twitter account @Shamefilm

Having collected 13 wins and 29 nominations to date, including Best Actor wins for Michael Fassbender at the Venice Film Festival and Moet British Independent Film Awards and a Golden Globe nomination, Shame also stars Carey Mulligan and is produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, who also produced The King’s Speech.

The plot follows Brandon (Fassbender), a 30-something man living comfortably in New York balancing a busy job and active social life, whose lifestyle spirals out of control when the wayward Sissy (Mulligan) turns up at his apartment unannouncedl.

Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.
