Shia LaBeouf to shoot Lars Von Trier sex scenes for real

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Story by Jack Foley

SHIA LaBeouf is to shoot his sex scenes ‘for real’ for controversial director Lars Von Trier.

The actor is one of several high-profile stars to have signed on for Nymphomaniac, which promises to be another of Von Trier’s provocative pieces of work.

The film follows the erotic adventures of a woman (to be played by Von Trier regular Charlotte Gainsbourg) from her youth to the age of 50, as recounted to her husband (Stellan Skarsgard). It’s not clear what LaBeouf’s role will be exactly but the actor told MTV recently that he’s terrified by the prospect.

“It is what you think it is,” he said. “There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we’re doing [the sex] for real. And anything that is ‘illegal’ will be shot in blurred images, but other than that, everything is happening.”

Von Trier has already announced that he is splitting the English-language project into two films and will shoot a softer and more explicit version of each.

Asked what it was like to work with the director, whose work includes AntiChrist and Melancholia – LaBeouf added: “He’s very dangerous. He’s the most dangerous dude I’ve ever showed up for. I’m terrified.”

Nymphomaniac is also set to star Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe.
