Sienna Miller and Amy Winehouse to auction items for Haiti fund
Feature by Jack Foley
ON FEBRUARY 26, 2010, Revolver Entertainment and the Electric Cinema organised a celebrity charity screening of the critically acclaimed documentary on Haiti, Ghosts of Cite Soleil, produced by and starring Haitian-born Wyclef Jean.
The event was hosted by Mica Paris, Jenni Falconer, Calum Best and Heather Mills followed by a Q&A with a national film critic and British documentary maker.
There is now an exclusive online auction, which was launched by Mica Paris at the event, in partnership with the International Medical Corps, who Sienna Miller and Ben Affleck are the Ambassadors of.
Exclusive star prizes include personal items from Sienna Miller such as a Cartier designer handbag, signed photo and a limited edition signed GI Joe cast and crew cap.
Amy Winehouse has also donated an exclusive limited edition, signed print worth over £1,000 and Ridley Scott’s contribution includes a signed and framed limited edition Kingdom of Heaven print.
Explains Sienna Miller, Ambassador for International Medical Corps: “Haiti is still in desperate need of our attention, and our aid. The column inches may fade, but we must not forget the survivors.
Please support the International Medical Corps auction in aid of Haiti which includes personal items from me and like-minded celebrities which I hope will help raise vital funds for Haiti – one of the poorest countries in the world that has touched us all.”
An estimated three million people were affected by the 2010 earthquake and the Haitian Government reports that between 217,000 and 230,000 people have been identified as dead, an estimated 300,000 injured and approximately 1,000,000 homeless. The death toll is expected to rise.
There are over 30 other prizes available for auction, including more celebrity signed items, premiere tickets, dinner at the exclusive Electric Brasserie in Portobello Road, a wine tasting course and the opportunity to have a summer fabric in Liberty department store named after you.
This exclusive auction goes live on March 11th at 11am, and can be found at the following link
