Simon Pegg talks Ice Age 3
Story by Jack Foley
Simon Pegg is to lend his voice to a swashbuckling, one-eyed weasel named Buck in forthcoming animated movie Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
The loveable British comedian – who will also be seen in this summer’s Star Trek movie – joins Seann William Scott, John Leguizamo, Josh Peck, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Ray Romano for the latest adventure.
Commenting on his role, Pegg said: “It’s been a blast bringing Buck to life. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two films, so it was a real treat to become part of the Ice Age. What’s more I get to be in 3D!”
According to distributor Twentieth Century Fox, Buck will help Manny and his group navigate the dinosaur world. The character used to live above ground but accidentally fell into the mysterious land beneath the Ice Age where he had a terrifying encounter with an albino Baryonyx dinosaur named Rudy.
In the fight, Buck lost an eye but took Rudy’s tooth, which he now carries with him. Since that moment, like Moby Dick’s Captain Ahab, Buck has lived alone and has devoted his life to seeking revenge.
