Skyfall's Berenice Marlohe joins Terrence Malick's latest
Story by Jack Foley
BOND girl Berenice Marlohe has joined the all-star cast of Terrence Malick’s latest movie, which is currently in production in Austin.
The as-yet untitled project reportedly revolves around two love triangles that intersect and are based around the music scene. The story involves obsession and betrayal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Marlohe, who can currently be seen in Skyfall, will join a tantalising ensemble cast that already includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Natalie Portman.
The details of her character are not being disclosed.
But the casting is evidence of Marlohe’s determination not to become another forgotten Bond girl. It is part of a deliberate move by her agents at ICM Partners to surround her with top talent and to use Skyfall as a launchpad for her career.
She will subsequently shoot the Malick film while completing Bond promotional duties – although given that this is a Malick film, it’ll be sometime before she knows whether she is in the final edit or joins a star-studded list of big names left on the cutting room floor!
