Snow White's Evan Daugherty to pen GI Joe 3
Story by Jack Foley
EVAN Daugherty, the writer who penned Snow White & The Huntsmen, is to pen the third installment of the GI Joe franchise.
Jon M Chu, who directed GI Joe: Retaliation to such global success, has already been confirmed to return to the director’s chair.
As yet, there is no word on plot details but Daugherty is thought to have won the gig after impressing Paramount executives by performing a successful last-minute rewrite on Ninja Turtles, the studio’s new take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that is currently in production.
He also co-wrote Summit’s keenly-anticipated adaptation of the Veronica Roth Young Adult novel Divergent, starring Shailene Woodley.
GI Joe: Retaliation grossed $371 million worldwide after being released earlier this year, topping the take of the original film, which also took over $300 million.
