Star Wars: The Force Awakens to receive world premiere in LA

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Story by Jack Foley

STAR Wars: The Force Awakens is to receive its massive world premiere in Los Angeles on December 14, 2015.

The world premiere is likely to be the first time that most or all of the cast will be seen together since filming was completed.

And given the secrecy surrounding the plot, it is likely to be one of the first screenings anywhere in the world, even for press.

Once LA has played host, the highly anticipated sequel will move to London for its European premiere and will then be followed by other events around the world.

The original Star Wars, now subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope, had its premiere at Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre in May 1977, while the last Star Wars movie to have an LA premiere was Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which debuted on May 12, 2005, in Westwood at the Mann Village Theatre.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released in UK cinemas on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
