MEXICAN actress Stephanie Sigman has been unveiled as the latest actress to join new 007 movie Spectre.

The casting was announced by the producers of the new James Bond film via Twitter, in which they also revealed that Sigman would play a character named Estrella.

Filming on the 24th Bond movie is currently taking place ahead of its release date in November 2015 and has so far included a snow sequence as well as a car chase through the streets of Rome.

Plot details remain sketchy but a significant part of the story will focus on 007’s childhood as an orphan, according to director Sam Mendes.

Sigman will line up alongside Monica Belucci, Léa Seydoux and Naomie Harris as the female contingent in the film.

Before now, she had appeared in movies such as Miss Bala and Pioneer as well as the US remake of Scandinavian series The Bridge on TV before it was cancelled.
