Steve Carell for Disney's Brooklyn Family Robinson
Story by Jack Foley
STEVE Carell is to star in Disney’s Brooklyn Family Robinson.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the family adventure comedy will provide the Anchorman luminary with a starring role.
David Reynolds, who was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing Pixar’s Finding Nemo, is penning the script, which reportedly will follow the patriarch of a family (to be played by Carell) who relocates his family from city life to island life.
Very few further plot details have been revealed.
Brooklyn Family Robinson would reunite Carell with Disney following their collaboration on family movie Alexander and Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day, which is due to open in the US in October.
His other forthcoming film, the Oscar-tipped drama Foxcatcher, is to have its North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
