SYLVESTER Stallone has confirmed that he is making a final Rambo movie as well as a new film about real life hitman Gregory Scarpa.

In a Tweet, the actor-director revealed that the final Rambo instalment will be called Rambo: Last Blood. He stopped short at unveiling any plot details.

But the name tips its hat to the first film in the franchise, which was called First Blood, and which generally opened to positive reviews.

The Tweet read: “Doing Scarpa based on Gangster Greg Scarpa after LAST BLOOD RAMBO …”

Stallone has already written the screenplay for the film and intends to direct, as well as star as Rambo.

Scarpa, meanwhile, is a gangster flick about the real life hitman Gregory Scarpa, aka ‘The Grim Reaper’.

Stallone will take on the lead role, with The Lincoln Lawyer’s Brad Furman on board to direct.

Scarpa was a career criminal and enforcer for the Colombo family. But he also worked as an informant for the FBI.

According to The Guardian, this latter period of his life is what the film will focus on.

In addition to these two new projects, Stallone is also set to appear in Rocky spin-off Creed, for director Ryan Coogler.
