Sylvester Stallone denies Nicolas Cage has signed for Expendables 3

The Expendables 2

Story by Jack Foley

JUST 24 hours after it was reported that Sylvester Stallone had confirmed Nicolas Cage’s appearance in The Expendables 3, the actor has moved to rubbish the reports.

The franchise creator personally contacted Deadline to deny the report, which had originally appeared in Spanish daily El Pais and on a Stallone Facebook fan page.

However, Stallone told Deadline that he had “no knowledge” of Cage signing up for the three-quel.

A further report attributes Stallone’s Cage comments to those he made during a UK press junket for The Expendables 2, during which he is also believed to have suggested Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes as other contenders for roles.

But while The Expendables 3 is in the works, a release date has yet to be set for the film and any new casting announcements are apparently a long way off.
