SYLVESTER Stallone is to replace Robert De Niro on the forthcoming heist thriller Idol’s Eye.

French director Olivier Assayas (of Personal Shopper and Carlos fame) is behind the camera for the project, which also stars Robert Pattinson and Rachel Weisz.

Pattinson heads the cast as a thief who unknowingly steals a blue diamond from Chicago mob boss Tony Accardo (Stallone), setting off a war between the two men as they both try to keep one step ahead of the FBI.

The $25 million project is set to begin shooting in Toronto early next year.
