The Dark Knight Rises running time revealed

The Dark Knight Rises

Story by Jack Foley

THE running time for The Dark Knight Rises, the final instalment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, will reportedly be 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The details were apparently revealed when US cinema chain AMC announced the running length on its website today (June 4).

This makes the final film 15 minutes longer than its predecessor The Dark Knight.

The announcement comes just 24 hours after further footage from the film was unveiled by Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the MTV Movie Awards.

During that presentation, Nolan promised an epic conclusion that he believed would meet expectations, while an emotional Bale used montage clips of the first two Batman films to pay a tribute to the memory of late actor Heath Ledger, who memorably played The Joker in the second film.

“It’s a great moment to remember Heath,” he told the audience.
