The Maze Runner sequel set for 2015

A SEQUEL has already been set for box office hit The Maze Runner.

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, based on the second entry in James Dashner’s book series, has been pencilled in for a release date of September 18, 2015.

The original, starring Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien and British actors Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Will Poulter, took $32.5 million on its US debut and $37.6 million internationally for an early worldwide total of $81.5 million.

The movie follows O’Brien’s character as he wakes up with no memory inside the centre of a giant maze, surrounded by other teenage boys, who find their lives being threatened by vicious creatures known as Grievers.

As they look for a way out of the maze, they eventually get assistance from a mysterious girl who gives them a fighting chance.

The film opens in UK cinemas on October 10, 2014.
