The Wolf of Wall Street to get 4-hour DVD release with more sex
Story by Jack Foley
MARTIN Scrosese’s notorious The Wolf of Wall Street is to get a longer, sexier and more foul-mouthed version on DVD.
According to the film’s producer Riza Aziz, “the sex scenes run a little longer but nothing extreme”.
His fellow producer Joey McFarland added: “To be honest with you, the movie is not much different in its longer form, it’s just longer versions of scenes.”
The theatrical version of the film already clocks in at three hours but the DVD alternative version will now extend to a fourth hour.
The move reflects the number of cuts that Scorsese was forced to make to the film in order to avoid the dreaded NC-17 rating that would have harmed its commercial potential.
The cinema version has currently taken over $220 million at the global box office, including sell-out shows across the UK (where it remains at No.1 for a second week).
It has also been nominated for five Oscars, including picture, director and actor. The awards ceremony takes place on March 2.
