The Wolverine sequel in the works with James Mangold

The Wolverine

Story by Jack Foley

JAMES Mangold and Twentieth Century Fox are at work on a sequel to The Wolverine.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is in talks with Mangold to pen a treatment for a follow-up that could enable Hugh Jackman to reprise the role yet again.

The storyline is being kept under wraps. But Fox is keen to keep the Wolverine franchise running, particularly as The Wolverine has now become the second-most-successful X-Men film at the worldwide box office, grossing $132.4 million in the US and $283 million internationally.

Thanks to a particularly strong performance at the Chinese box office, the film has even now surpassed the $405.8 million grossed globally by X2: X-Men United.
