Thomas Kretschmann to play villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron

THOMAS Kretschmann has been cast as a villain in Marvel’s forthcoming sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The actor, whose past credits include Valkyrie (pictured) and King Kong as well as – more recently – Abraham van Helsing on NBC’s Dracula series, is expected to play Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.
James Spader has already been announced as the film’s main villain, Ultron, while Elizabeth Olsen recently joined as the Scarlet Witch.
The sequel to the record-breaking Avengers Assemble is due to hit cinemas on May 1, 2015 with Joss Whedon returning as director and Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans all reprising their roles.
Production begins next month.
