Tom Cruise's One Shot and Brad Pitt's World War Z get new release dates

World War Z

Story by Jack Foley

TOM Cruise legal thriller One Shot and Brad Pitt’s zombie action thriller World War Z have been given new US release dates by distributor Paramount.

One Shot has been brought forward from February 2013 to December 21, 2012 – the same date that Cruise’s box office blockbuster Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol opened last year.

This, in turn, means that World War Z, which was to have opened in December this year, has now been moved to a summer date of June 21, 2013.

One Shot is based on Lee Child’s best-selling book about an investigator drawn into the case of a former military sniper who is charged with killing five people.

World War Z, which is directed by Marc Forster, is based on the novel by Max Brooks.

In related Paramount news, it has been announced that Nickelodeon is reviving the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise with Jonathan Liebesman directing a $100 million CGI/live-action combo, which has been given a Christmas Day release in 2013. Michael Bay is producing.
