Tom Hanks to star in Hologram For the King

TOM Hanks is to star in the big screen adaptation of Dave Eggers’ novel Hologram For the King.

According to Variety, the actor will reunite with Cloud Atlas director Tom Tykwer for the project.

The story is set in a rising Saudi Arabian city where a struggling American businessman heads to pursue a last-ditch attempt to stave off foreclosure, pay his daughter’s college tuition and finally do something great.

In book form, Hologram For the King was a New York Times best-seller and National Book Award finalist.

Hanks will next be seen next in Sony’s Captain Phillips for director Paul Greengrass, followed by Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks.
