SPIDER-Man star Tom Holland and British acting greats Ralph Fiennes and Emma Thompson have been signed up to star alongside Robert Downey Jr in The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle.

The actors will be voice-starring in the Universal feature that will be lead by Downey Jr. as the physician with the ability to speak to animals.

Also joining the cast in a live-action role is Antonio Banderas, who will play Rassouli. Michael Sheen is close to completing a deal for the live-action role of Mudfly.

Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) is directing the film from a script that he wrote. The story is based on the 1920s children’s books by Hugh Lofting.

The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle is scheduled to begin production this month in London, and is currently slated for release on April 12, 2019.

Holland will be reprising his role as Spider-Man in May’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Thompson voice starred in last year’s Beauty & The Beast, and is set for BBC and Amazon’s King Lear.

Fiennes, who voiced Alfred in last year’s The Lego Batman Movie, is next set to appear alongside Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the Sherlock Holmes comedy, Holmes & Watson.
