Tom Holland to reunite with Russo Brothers for Cherry

Tom Holland

Story by Jack Foley

TOM Holland is to reunite with filmmaking brothers Joe and Anthony Russo for real-life crime drama Cherry.

Based on Nico Walker’s novel, the film parallels the true life story of the author, a former Army medic who returned from the war in Iraq with extreme un-diagnosed post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and fell into opioid addiction and began robbing banks.

Walker was eventually caught in 2011 and is scheduled to be released in 2020.

The story has been adapted by Jessica Goldberg for the Russos to direct, with a start date set for the summer (2019).

The directors have worked with Holland on both Avengers: Infinity War and the forthcoming Avengers: Endgame.

Holland will therefore be reprising his Peter Parker/Spider-Man role in both Endgame and new stand-alone Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is due out this summer.

The actor will also be lending his voice to Spies In Disguise (due, August 9) and will be seen starring alongside Robert Downey Jr in The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle (due, January 31, 2020).
