Vin Diesel Kojak remake moves forward with 007 writers

Fast Five

Story by Jack Foley

VIN Diesel’s long-gestating Kojak revival appears to be moving forward.

Universal has hired regular James Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to pen the script. The duo most recently collaborated on 007 hit Skyfall.

The tough, streetwise (and bald) detective was originally played by Telly Savalas in the 1970s CBS TV series but Diesel has been actively seeking to bring the character to the big screen for some months.

He will also serve as producer.

In addition to their work on Skyfall, which was co-written by John Logan, Purvis and Wade have penned the screenplays for James Bond adventures Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Die Another Day.

As yet, there is no start date for filming.
