WES Anderson has finally revealed some plot details for his next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
The follow-up to Moonrise Kingdom, the film brings together another typically starry ensemble cast, headed by Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law and others.
The movie has just wrapped shooting in Germany and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is described as a story about “a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protege”.
The report goes on to say that the story will centre around “the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th Century”.
Fox Searchlight have acquired distribution rights and are currently eyeing a late 2013 or early 2014 release.
Also joining the cast are Harvey Keitel, Saoirse Ronan, Tom Wilkinson, Mathieu Amalric, Tony Revolori, F. Murray Abraham, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Bob Balaban and, of course, Bill Murray.
