Will Ferrell and John C Reilly to reunite for Sherlock Holmes comedy

WILL Ferrell is to reunite with John C. Reilly to play the detective team made famous by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Holmes & Watson will see Ferrell playing world-famous detective Sherlock and Reilly assuming the role of his loyal sidekick Dr Watson for a comedy directed by Etan Cohen (of Get Hard fame).

As yet, plot details have not been revealed and there is no release date.

But the last time Ferrell and Reilly teamed up, they delivered the winning racing comedy Talladega Nights.

Ferrell was last seen on the big screen starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in comedy hit Daddy’s Home and reprising his role as deranged fashion designer Mugatu in box office flop Zoolander 2. He will next be seen alongside Amy Poehler in the comedy The House.

Reilly was most recently seen in the Cannes stand-out The Lobster and will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ Kong: Skull Island. He is also set to reprise his role in Disney’s sequel to the video game inspired annimation Wreck It Ralph.

In addition to Get Hard, which also starred Ferrell, Cohen’s other credits include the screenplays for Tropic Thunder, Men in Black 3 and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
