Story by Jack Foley

WINONA Ryder is reportedly in talks to co-star in new action thriller, Homefront, which is based on a script from Sylvester Stallone.

If successful, the actress will join Jason Statham and James Franco on the action movie along with child actor Izabela Vidovic.

Based on a book by Chuck Logan, the film would follow the fortunes of an ex-DEA agent (played by Statham) who moves to a small town in the hope of a quiet life only to come up against a villainous meth kingpin named Gator (Franco).

Ryder would play a former biker chick partnered with Franco, while Vidovic is Statham’s daughter.

In addition to supplying the script, Stallone is producing while Gary Fleder is on board to direct. Shooting is due to commence in New Orleans in September.

Ryder has just completed filming another thriller, The Iceman, alongside Chris Evans and Michael Shannon and has also supplied a voice to Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie.

Stallone can currently be seen on-screen alongside Statham in The Expendables 2.
