Wreck-It Ralph 2 debuts princess footage at D23 as Taraji P. Henson joins cast

FOOTAGE from Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has been debuted at D23, the Disney expo taking place in Anaheim, California – and it has gone down a storm.

The scene featured returning character Vanellope (voiced once again by Sarah Silverman) in a website named, meeting all the Disney princesses in the hopes of stirring up some trouble.

As she interacts with them, however, she develops a respect for them – and gives them a wardrobe change. But the interaction is notable for the way in which it cleverly but lovingly skewers the history and tropes of Disney animated classics and princesses.

To add a little Disney magic, many of the original voices of the princesses returned for the scene, with those actresses then making an appearance at the presentation.

These included Jodi Benson (Ariel), Paige O’Hara (Belle), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Kelly Macdonald (Merida), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) and Kristen Bell (Anna). The appearance was greeted with rapturous applause by the enthusiastic crowd.

As part of the Wreck It Ralph 2 presentation, it was also revealed that Taraji P. Henson has joined the voice cast, playing a character named Yess, a trend-aholic algorithm who acts like a guide to Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman).

The plot follows the duo’s game break down, which sees them requiring a replacement part and venturing into the wild world of the Internet (which they subsequently break).

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is once again being co-directed by Rich Moore (who won an Oscar earlier this year for Zootropolis) and Phil Johnston. It is scheduled to open on November 21, 2018.
