Yvonne Strahovski in Chuck

Story by Jack Foley

FORMER Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski is the latest name to join Shane Black’s The Predator reboot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress will play the mother to Room star Jacob Tremblay’s character, a troubled boy who is accidentally drawn into the conflict with the fierce alien creatures by his father – her ex-husband – played by Boyd Holbrook.

Black is directing the movie, which began production Monday in Vancouver, and also co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker.

Plot details remain sketchy but the latest conflict is to take place in an unlikely venue: suburbia.

Strahovski is perhaps best known to audiences for starring on NBC’s Chuck for five seasons. But she has also had runs on Dexter and 24: Live Another Day.

She will next be seen in Hulu’s keenly anticipated Margaret Atwood adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale with Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes, and also has the Marc Forster-helmed movie drama All I See Is You alongside Blake Lively.

The Predator also boasts Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen and Olivia Munn among its ensemble cast.
