Story by Jack Foley

ZAC Efron is attached to star in a new crime thriller called Narc.

Based on a true story, the film is described by The Hollywood Reporter as “a college-set Donnie Brasco“.

It focuses on a successful college student who was president of his fraternity and captain of his lacrosse team before getting busted by local police who caught him with some cocaine he was going to distribute at a party.

He subsequently accepted a deal to become an undercover informant and ended up living a secret double life while in college, wearing wiretaps and eventually putting away big-time criminals.

The story was discovered by emerging producer Doug Banker, who was instrumental in bringing the project to its current state of play.

As yet, there is no word on a director but Efron is attached to star while a script is being penned by Grant Myers.

Efron has only recently signed up to Eran Creevy’s thriller Autobahn and is currently filming The Townies with Seth Rogen.
