Zach Galifianakis in talks for Humpty Dumpty

The Hangover

Story by Jack Foley

ZACH Galifianakis is in talks to lend his voice to the role of Humpty Dumpty for Shrek spin-off, Puss in Boots.

The prequel already features the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The story will follow the events leading up to Puss in Boots’ first meeting with Shrek and Donkey in the second film of the franchise.

Chris Miller, who co-directed and co-wrote Shrek The Third, is directing the prequel with a view to completing the film for a release on November 4, 2011.

The Puss in Boots character will also appear in the upcoming Shrek Forever After, which is due for release in May next year.

Galifianakis has had a phenomenal year since emerging as the breakthrough star of summer hit The Hangover. As well as the sequel to that movie, he has recently joined the casts of the Jay Roach-directed Dinner for Schmucks, Todd Phillips’ Due Date opposite Robert Downey Jr, and the Ryan Fleck-Anna Boden-directed drama It’s Kind of a Funny Story.

The HBO series Bored to Death, on which Galifianakis also appears, has also been renewed for a second season.

And he’ll next be seen alongside George Clooney in Jason Reitman’s Oscar-tipped Up In The Air.
