Zack Snyder drops Man of Steel sequel teasers
Story by Jack Foley
ZACK Snyder has dropped a few hints about what to expect from his forthcoming Man of Steel sequel.
Speaking as part of a Yahoo! live event promoting the Blu-ray release of his summer blockbuster, the director said that both Superman (to be played once again by Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) will likely come to blows during the course of the sequel.
“The fun of the idea is to be able to play with that relationship,” said Snyder. “Whether they fight and become friends, or whether they’re friends and they fight. … Of course, some physical conflicts [will be involved].”
Snyder went a little bit further by hinting at the possibility that Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor may also appear. While refusing to confirm or deny either way, he did say that “Lex loves calling him [Superman] an alien”.
And in an address to criticisms of him having Superman kill Michael Shannon’s General Zod at the end of the first film, Snyder went on to suggest that the sequel may well deal with the psychological repercussions of that.
The Man of Steel sequel hits US cinemas on July 17, 2015. Man of Steel is released on Blu-ray and DVD in the UK on December 2, 2013.
