O2 Wireless Festival - Raconteurs join line-up

THE Raconteurs, the duel rock group created by Jack White and Brendan Benson, have been added to the O2 Wireless Festival alongside a number of other acts.

The Raconteurs have been added to the bill to play the festival on Wednesday, June 21 in London’s Hyde Park, alongside hotly-tipped newcomers, Guillemots, and Bob Mould, fomer Sugar and Husker Du frontman.

On Thursday, June 22, meanwhile, former Velvet Underground member John Cale will play, along with Micah P Hinson.

While Clor, Sway, Midlake and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. have joined the bill on Friday, June 23.

Saturday, June 24 sees Nizlopi, The Upper Room, The 88 and Paolo Nutini all playing, while on Sunday, June 25 The Dears and Gang of Four have been added to the entertainment.

Tickets are currently on sale for all of the London dates, priced at £37.50 per single day (plus booking fee). Multi-day packages are also available.

The Who at Leeds, meanwhile, is £37.50 (plus booking fee) while Saturday, June 24 at Leeds is £32.50 (also plus booking fee).

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, The Strokes and DJ Shadow are among the acts confirmed to play this year’s O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park.

The event takes place from June 21 to 25, 2006, and boasts a star-studded list of attractions designed to cater for all musical tastes.

Headlining on the all-new festival day, for instance, are The Strokes, who will be joined by Belle and Sebastian and Super Furry Animals.

While June 22’s line-up includes David Gray and KT Tunstall, followed by Massive Attack, The Flaming Lips, DJ Shadow and Pharrell Williams on June 23.

James Blunt headlines on June 24 with Zero 7, Eels and Nile Rodgers & Chic on the bill.

Depeche Mode headline the final day on June 25, with Goldfrapp and goth veterans Bauhaus in support.

In addition to the London shows, there are plans for a two-day spin-off event in Leeds, at Harewood House.

Goldfrapp, Pharrell Williams and DJ Shadow are due to perform on June 24, while The Who will headline the following day (June 25) with Super Furry Animals and The Flaming Lips.
