50 Cent announces UK tour (2007)

50 Cent, Curtis

Story by Jack Foley

RAPPER 50 Cent has confirmed details of a full UK tour this November to dismiss rumours that he’s retired.

The controversial figure pulled out of two awards shows in London earlier this week and a couple of live appearances after his album Curtis was beaten to the top spot of the both the US and UK charts by rival Kanye West.

The sales figures prompted fears he’d retired in light of a pledge he made in the run-up to the release when he said he’d stop releasing solo material if his album was outsold by West.

But the new tour will now begin at the Aberdeen Arena on November 7, with a show at the SECC in Glasgow the following day.

He will also appear at Birmingham’s NEC Arena on November 9, London’s O2 Arena on November 10 and Bournemouth’s BIC on November 11.

Tickets for all the concerts went on sale at 10am BST on Saturday (September 22).

50 Cent’s current single, featuring Justin Timberlake (Ayo Technology) is currently at number five in the UK charts, while third album, Curtis, sits at number two in both the UK and US.

The tour dates in full (all November):

7 – Abderdeen Arena
8 – SECC Glasgow
9 – Birmingham’s NEC Arena
10 – The O2 Arena, London
11 – Bournemouth BIC
12 – Cardiff CIA
