Alanis Morissette announces Guardian Angel UK tour dates
Story by Jack Foley
MULTI-platinum, Grammy winning artist Alanis Morissette will return to the UK this November starting with a huge show at London’s O2 Arena.
The trio of dates come in support of her newly released seventh studio album, Havoc And Bright Lights, (out August 27) with Columbia UK.
Produced by Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Madonna, Seal) and Joe Chiccarelli (Tori Amos, Elton John, My Morning Jacket, U2) and recorded in Los Angeles, the new album marks the songstress’ first release in four years and includes the first single, Guardian.
Says Morissette of the LP: “This record, as always, is a snapshot of what I currently obsess about, care about, and what strikes me at 4 in the morning in my most introspective moments.
“It is my emotional, psychological, social and philosophical commentary through song. I can’t wait to share it with this fun and funny planet, and to tour, and can’t WAIT to have the lively, engaging and challenging conversations that these songs may invite.”
The November shows follow a string of sold out shows in June.
The tour dates are (all November 2012):
28 – London, The O2
29 – Nottingham Capital FM Arena
30 – Liverpool Echo Arena
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, August 31 and cost are £42.50 and £32.50 (or £45 and £35 for London).
