Aled Jones announces cathedral tour of UK (2012)

Aled Jones

Story by Jack Foley

ALED Jones, singer, actor, author and radio/TV presenter, has announced plans for a unique tour taking in some of the nation’s most beautiful cathedrals and venues throughout October.

The gigs will culminate with a show at London’s Union Chapel.

Aled, who recently celebrated over 25 years as a singer, currently has 29 albums to his name – selling over 6 million to date – and has been a Presenter on Songs of Praise for over 10 years.

Performing in Cathedrals has been part of Aled’s life since his days in Bangor as a boy chorister and this tour will see Aled visit the length and breadth of the country, including Durham, Exeter, Ely, Truro, Manchester before making a return to Bangor.

He commented: “This new UK tour is going to be very special to me as at each show either the Cathedral choir or local choirs from the area are going to take part making each occasion unique. I also can’t wait to perform all my favourite songs.”

Aled Jones’ Musical Director Simon Lole is commissioning each choir and full details will be announced soon.

This tour will not only see Aled performing in some of the country’s most beautiful buildings but also a chance to see him collaborate with wonderful local choirs in each town.
