Alicia Keys announces 2010 tour dates

Alicia Keys

Story by Jack Foley

TWELVE-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys will be touring the UK in May 2010 as part of her pan European Tour.

The tour will see the multi-award winning singer, songwriter, musician, actress and philanthropist return to London’s O2 Arena on May 25 for her only London date of the tour. Alicia played the venue to packed houses twice in 2008.

Alicia’s 2010 UK and Europe tour will follow the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Element of Freedom (out on December 14, 2009) and first single, Doesn’t Mean Anything.

The Element of Freedom is the follow up to Keys’ multi-platinum selling 2007 album As I Am, which featured the Grammy Award winning global smash No One as well as hit singles Like You’ll Never See Me Again, Teenage Love Affair and Superwoman.

Alicia describes the new album as a dichotomy of strength and vulnerability.

“The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate,” she added.

The tour dates are (all May 2010):

19 – Birmingham NIA
23 – Glasgow SECC
25 – London O2 Arena
29 – Manchester MEN Arena

Tickets for the dates go on on sale on Monday, November 30, at 9am.
