Amy Winehouse to release Trouble DVD

Amy Winehouse, DVD

Story by Jack Foley

AMY Winehouse is set to round off a busy year with the release of the DVD I Told You I Was Trouble on November 5.

This extended length DVD captures highlights from Amy’s live performances at Shepherd’s Bush Empire earlier this year and contains a revealing documentary charting the 24-year-old Londoner’s inexorable rise from down the bill solo acoustic performer up to the chart-topping present day.

The 50-minute documentary features exclusive interviews with Amy and her father Mitch, as well as an astonishing and very early acoustic performance of There Is No Greater Love.

Other highlights include behind the scenes footage at various live performances and a selection of television appearances including Amy’s show-stopping rendition of Rehab at this year’s Brit Awards.

The full track listing for the live show is a follows: Addicted, Just Friends, Cherry, Back To Black, Wake Up Alone, Tears Dry On Their Own, He Can Only Hold Her, Fuck Me Pumps, Some Unholy War, Love Is A Losing Game, Valerie, Hey Little Rich Girl, Rehab, I’m No Good, Me & Mr Jones, Monkey Man, Outro.

2007 saw Amy establish herself as one of world’s biggest stars, both commercially and critically. The continued high chart position in the UK, (Back To Black has only been outside the UK top 10 for 1 week this year), has been mirrored in the US where Back To Black entered the Billboard Hot 100 album chart at no. 7, making Amy the highest debuting British female artist in the history of the US albums chart.

The album continues to enjoy almost unbroken Top 10 success in the States.

The critical response to the record has been every bit as impressive with Amy picking up a series of awards including a Brit, Ivor Novello, Mojo, Glamour and Elle Style Awards.

To further the success of the album, Amy will release a deluxe version in a bound 2-disc casing on November 5. Disc 1 presents Back To Black in its original glory and Disc 2 features studio recordings of some of Amy’s best loved live songs, as well as the original demo version of Love Is A Losing Game.

The full track-listing for Disc 2 is as follows: Valerie, Cupid, Monkey Man, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Hey Little Rich Girl, You’re Wondering Now, Some Unholy War and Love Is A Losing Game (Original Demo).

Amy kicks off her UK tour on November 12 in Manchester and will finish up in Cardiff on November 28.
