Babyshambles announce UK arena tour

Babyshambles

Story by Jack Foley

PETE Doherty’s Babyshambles are to play their biggest shows to date with an arena tour later this year, including a night at London’s Wembley Arena.

The UK dates kick off at Manchester MEN Arena on November 22 and include dates in Newcastle, Brighton, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Nottingham and Glasgow.

Doherty will also play two solo shows at London’s Hackney Empire next month (April), which will include poetry, readings and an acoustic set.

In spite of the troubles surrounding the band’s controversial lead singer Doherty, Babyshambles recenty secured a long-term deal with record label Parlophone off the back of the release of The Blinding EP in December.

The band also enjoyed success with their debut album on the Rough Trade label, Down in Albion, which spawned the top 10 hits Killamangiro and Albion.

23 – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
25 – Brighton Centre
26 – Bournemouth International Centre
27 – London Wembley Arena
28 – Birmingham NIA
30 – Nottingham Arena
