Barclaycard Mercury Prize Sessions: Johnny Marr and Bastille on bill

THE Barclaycard Mercury Prize Sessions gig series have returned to The Hospital Club in London with Johnny Marr and Bastille set to take to the stage in the coming weeks.
This year’s concert showcase kicked off last Thursday (March 7) with Suede and Palma Violets.
It will be followed, on Thursday, March 28, 2013, with performances by Johnny Marr and Tom Odell.
While Bastille take the limelight on Wednesday, April 10, with Laura Mvula.
The Sessions are an exclusive series of gigs that the Barclaycard Mercury Prize has established to celebrate live music in the UK and are separate from the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’.
Featuring a range of new and established artists from both the UK and overseas, the Sessions are filmed in front of an audience of around 250 music fans at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden.

Fans who are not able to attend the gigs will be able to watch tracks from the Sessions on television and online, as each featured artist will be the subject of a dedicated programme to be broadcast on Channel 4.
