Story by Jack Foley

SUPER producer and DJ Mark Ronson is to unite with the BBC Concert Orchestra for a special performance at this year’s BBC Electric Proms.

The musical maestro behind recent number one hit Stop Me and No.1 album Version will appear at London’s Roundhouse along with special guests Lily Allen, Candie Payne, Terry Hall and Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess.

This year’s BBC Electric Proms runs from October 24 to 28 at venues around Camden and will feature over 80 acts, including Kaiser Chiefs, Jamie Cullum and Eliza Carthy.

It’s being billed as “specifically designed to create new moments in music” through collaborations between new and established acts or new material performed for the first time.

Hence, Kaisers Chiefs will unite with David Arnold for a new approach to the arrangement and performance of some of their best-known tracks.

And Jamie Cullum will pair up with Japanese club jazz band Soil and Pimp Sessions for another unique recording.

Commenting on the line-up, Lorna Clarke, festival director, said: “I’m delighted that the first artists on this year’s line up have embraced the central challenge of the Electric Proms – to create new moments in music. I know that they will give our broadcast audiences across the country something truly special.”
