Primal Scream

Story by Jack Foley

PRIMAL Scream will headline the third and final night of this year’s Bestival Festival (2007), joining The Chemical Brothers and Beastie Boys on the Isle of Wight between September 7 and 9.

The Scream were honored with the ‘Godlike Genius’ award at this year’s NME Awards.

And with 18 hit singles, 11 albums and one helluva rock’n’roll reputation behind them they finally got the recognition they deserved.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank commented: “Screamadelica made me throw half my record collection out it was so good… and they’ve just got better and better… get ready to get your rocks off!”

While Primal Scream will close the main stage, the Big Top will play host to 2 Many DJ’s who have come back especially to ceremoniously end the festival on a high.

Further bands added to this year’s bill include The Rumble Strips, Planning To Rock – aka Janine Rostron, a spaced out bonkers performance artist and musician, and arty Janis Joplin.

Furthermore, there will also be a special performance from a gigantic ukulele band that will be made up solely of festival-goers.

Organised in cahoots with the fabulous Dulwich Ukulele Club, ‘the Night of 100 Ukes’ will take place on the final Sunday evening of the festival.
