Story by Jack Foley

BLOC Party have been added to the line up for the Q Awards gigs, thereby completing a run of exclusive, intimate one-off performances at The Forum, in Kentish Town, that already features Keane, Sugababes and Razorlight.

Bloc Party will take the stage on Tuesday, September 30 on the back of their eagerly awaited third studio, Intimacy, which was released digitally through on August 21 (the physical album will follow in October).

The acclaimed indie rockers have enjoyed great critical and commercial success with their previous albums, Silent Alarm, which was certified platinum in the UK, and the follow up, 2007’s A Weekend In The City, which reached Number 2 in the UK charts and 12 on the Billboard 200 in the US.

As previously announced, Keane will kick off Q Awards: The Gigs on Monday, September 29 with a performance that will unveil their new album, Perfect Symmetry, which will be released a fortnight later on October 13.

Wednesday, October 1, meanwhile, sees the Sugababes take over The Forum ahead of the release of their new single Girls (due, October 6), before they head back into the studio to finish work on their sixth studio album, which will follow on October 20.

And on Thursday, October 2 Razorlight bring the Q Awards: The Gigs to a spectacular close. The band will be performing a combination of hits and new songs from their highly anticipated third studio album.

Q Awards: The Gigs will launch the annual Q Awards, which take place this year on Monday, October 6 in central London and will once again honour some of the biggest and best names in music.
