Blur announce two intimate warm-up shows

BLUR have announced details of two intimate warm-up shows they are to play ahead of their Hyde Park dates this summer.

Damon Albarn and co will play venues in Colchester and London, with proceeds from both events going to good causes.

The band’s first ever gig was held at the East Anglian Railway Museum in Chappel, Colchester, in 1998 and now they are set to return to that same venue on Saturday, June 13, 2009.

All proceeds from that gig will go towards the East Anglian Railway Museum charity and the Aldham Village Hall Restoration Project.

Goldsmith College in London, meanwhile, played a pivotal role in Blur’s early days, as both Alex and Graham were students there when the band was first formed.

Blur subsequently return to the venue on Monday, June 22, 2009, with all proceeds from the Goldsmith gig going to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
