Bon Jovi announce 2013 UK dates and cut-price tickets

Story by Jack Foley

BON Jovi have announced details of a UK tour for 2013 and have made good on their plege to make seeing them affordable.

Earlier this week, the veteran rockers said that they would be offering tickets costing just £12.50 to cash-strapped fans in a bid to stop gig-goers being priced out of seeing live music.

The move follows the widespread outrage that greeted the cost of tickets to see The Rolling Stones in London and New York.

Rob Hallett, the band’s UK tour promoter, explained: “The band insisted on ticket prices for the Because We Can Tour that enabled all to attend. Ordinary fans have been priced out of live music in recent years and we hope this goes some way toward redressing the balance.

“After all, rock’n‘roll always was and always should be the music of the people. And that means everyone.”

Bon Jovi will tour the world in 2013 as part of their ‘Because We Can’ tour, which comes in support of their forthcoming new album What About Now, which is due in Spring 2013.

As yet, there is no plan to play London.

Bon Jovi’s dates are (all June and July 2013):

June
8 – Manchester Etihad Stadium
9 – Birmingham Villa Park
12- Cardiff City Stadium
13 – Sunderland Stadium Of Light

July
3 – Glasgow Hampden Park

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 1 and will be priced between £12.50 up to £125 (plus booking fees).
