Story by Jack Foley

DJ Calvin Harris’ latest single I Need Your Love, featuring Ellie Goulding, has broken a UK chart record.

The track charted at Number 7 in the UK’s Official Singles Chart on Sunday (April 21, 2013), making Calvin the first artist ever to have eight singles from the same album reach the UK Top 10.

18 Months is still riding high in the Official Albums Chart since its release in September 2012, eight months ago, and it is edging ever closer to double platinum status.

I Need Your Love is the eighth single taken from the album and follows Harris’ collaborations with Tinie Tempah (Drinking From The Bottle), Kelis (Bounce), his solo track Feel So Close and collaborations with Rihanna (We Found Love), Ne-Yo (Let’s Go), Example (We’ll Be Coming Back) and Florence Welch (Sweet Nothing) – which have all reached the UK Top 5.

Official Charts Company Managing Director Martin Talbot commented: “Many artists only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement. In turn, eight Top 10s from one album is not just impressive, it is absolutely remarkable. And, of course, record breaking. Congratulations to Calvin Harris, THE modern day hit-maker.”

The video for I Need Your Love premiered last week and has had over 6 millions views online already thus far.

Calvin kicks off his 18 month Las Vegas residency at Hakkasan MGM Grand this weekend – Saturday, April 27.
