Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong

Story by Jack Foley

JOE Lean and the Jing Jang Jong have just been added to Camp Bestival, an offshoot of Isle Of Wight festival Bestival, as part of its 2008 line-up.

The hotly-tipped newcomers will join the likes of Black Kids, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Ebony Bones, Emmy The Great, Cock N Bull Kid and George Pringle at the summer event, which takes place at Lulworth Castle, Dorset between July 18-20.

On the DJ front, there will also be drum ‘n’ bass from DJ Krust, jazz, soul and house influences from BBC Radio 1’s Gilles Peterson and reggae and dub stylings of One Deck and Popular, among others.

Camp Bestival is not just about the music, either! Further attractions include The Insect Circus Stage and Museum which promises mad circus shows and trapeze mania.

While Underbling and Vow will join the party every night with their singalong Cockney knees up with Mickey The Fingers on piano and Rosie and Rosie going up the Elephant and down the Strand in a raucous fashion!

There’s also an appearance from the world’s largest marching band, headed up by a Ukulele orchestra and Masters of the Kazooniverse.

And, for the mini wizards, there’s Physics In The Field – mini science experiments and physics demos for kids and adults alike.

Tickets cost £120 for adult weekend passes (Standard Price), £60 for teens aged 13 to 15 (Standard Price) and are free for children aged 12 and under.
