Charlatans to release tenth album as a free download

Charlatans

Story by Jack Foley

THE Charlatans are to give away their tenth studio album You Cross My Path as a free download from the band’s website and from Xfm.co.uk from March 3.

The long-player will then get a physical CD and vinyl release on May 19 through Cooking Vinyl.

It is a form of release that echoes Radiohead’s decision to make their new album, In Rainbows, available to fans online first – and which, crucially, didn’t prevent it from going to No.1 in the album charts when it was released physically into stores in January.

The Charlatans will mark the physical release of their album by including a strictly limited deluxe edition vinyl 45’s box set of the LP.

The first single from the LP will be Oh Vanity!, which will be available as a free download from February 25.

The full tracklisting for the album is:
Oh! Vanity
Bad Days
Mis-takes
The Misbegotten
A Day For Letting Go
You Cross My Path
Missing Beats (Of A Generation)
My Name Is Despair
Bird / Reprise
This Is The End
