Cliff Richard & The Shadows announce last ever UK performance

Cliff Richard and The Shadows

Story by Jack Foley

SIR Cliff Richard and The Shadows have announced that due to phenomenal public demand an extra and final date has been added to their UK tour.

Their last ever UK performance together will now take place on Friday, October 23, 2009 at London’s iconic Wembley Arena.

And to mark this very special occasion, Cliff and the Shadows, Live Nation and Wembley Arena have joined forces with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity in London.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity raises funds to support Great Ormond Street Hospital as a world-class centre of excellence in paediatric treatment, training and research.

The hospital’s pioneering research and treatment gives hope to children who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions, from across the country and abroad.

Antonia Dalmahoy, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted that Live Nation, Wembley Arena and Cliff Richard and The Shadows have decided to help the young ones at Great Ormond Street Hospital.”

Sir Cliff Richard said: “The Great Ormond Street Hospital has a reputation second to none around the world. It’s a huge privilege to come alongside this place of excellence – a byword for compassion, expertise and dedication – for our very final UK performance at Wembley Arena.”

Tickets for the Wembley Arena show on October 23 go on sale on Sunday, February 8 at 10am.
