Coldplay announce December tour (2008)

COLDPLAY have announced plans to play 10 dates across the UK, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena in December.

Chris Martin and co will perform a series of arena shows at the end of the year, taking in venues in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester and London.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale at 9.30am on Friday, 30 May – and are expected to be swept up fast.

The 2008 tour dates are (all December 2008):

1-2 – Birmingham NIA
5-6 – Glasgow SECC
7 – Sheffield Arena
10 – Liverpool Echo Arena
11-12 – Manchester MEN Arena
14-15 – London O2 Arena

The December dates follow three free shows in London, New York and Barcelona, which are to be held in June to celebrate the release of their forthcoming new album, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends on June 12.

In what is proving to be a prolific period for the band, Coldplay have also recently made the title track to the new LP available to download.

The move follows their recent decision to allowefans to download their first single Violet Hill, for free.
