COLDPLAY have announced three stadium shows in the UK for September 2009, including a night at London’s Wembley Stadium.

In addition, rap icon Jay-Z has been billed as very special guest support for each of the shows.

The dates were unveiled on Monday, just as the band prepare to open their current sold out UK tour in Sheffield on November 29, before playing three nights at London’s O2 Arena in December.

Tickets for the 2009 gigs go on sale at 9.30am on Friday, November 28 and the dates are as follows (all September 2009)…

12 – Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground
16 – Glasgow Hampden Park
19 – London Wembley Stadium

Tickets cost £45 (Manchester), £55 and £45 (Glasgow) and £65 and £45 (London).

On November 24, Coldplay release a two disc set Viva La Vida – Prospekt’s March Edition. The second CD features eight previously unreleased tracks, which are also available separately as an EP.

The album Viva La Vida was released in June and charted at No 1 in 36 countries, including the UK and USA.
