Crowns announce Big Issue tour to highlight plight of homeless at Christmas

Story by Jack Foley

CORNISH four-piece Crowns are taking to the roads of Britain with the aim of spreading a little joy and hopefully highlighting the plight of a vulnerable section of society, whose Christmas will be a little less joyful.

“We respect the Big Issue’s motto of ‘a hand up, not a hand out’ – so we’ll do all we can on this trip to boost the vendors sales and raise awareness of the charity’s fine work,” say the band.

The band will be performing at the Big Issue distribution centre in Glasgow on December 13, before driving south and finishing in London on Tuesday, December18, 2012.

And you can get involved too! If you want the band to come and play at your school, youth club, record shop, home, corner shop, then contact the band.

If you can provide accommodation for the band, then get in touch and email

The route is:

Glasgow – Thursday, December 13
Liverpool / Manchester- Friday, December 14
Sheffield / Leeds – Saturday, December 15 / Sunday, December 16
Nottingham / Birmingham – Monday, December 17
London – Tuesday, December 18
